Wild flower basics - getting started
This half day session is for anyone who is interested in
wild flowers and wants a helping hand to get started making sense of the great
variety to be seen in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or
elswhere. We’ll cover a range of important topics including:
- key parts of the plant to look out for to help identify them
- quick and easy tips to help you identify a range of plants
- how best to use a wild flower book to help your
identification
- practice using a hand lens
You’ll get a good bit of practice at identification with
plenty of help and we’ll also have a good stroll around a number of different
habitats identifying the plants we find.
We have a supply of hand lenses and wild flower books if
needed.
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: £50 for two people; £10 per additional group member.
Individual one-to-one booking available at £50.
Further information: Minimum group size two; maximum 12.
Participants should be 16 or over. We will be walking at a gentle pace but this
may include some steep slopes and uneven ground. Please let us know of any
special requirements and we can select a route to suit you.
All activity leaders are CRB checked
